Barrett-Jackson, one of the leading companies that provide products and services to classic and collector car owners and the producer of “World’s Greatest Collector Car Events” has recently made history with the sale of the new 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Convertible “Rent-A-Racer”. Unveiled by Carroll Shelby and Mark Fields, Executive Vice President of Ford Motor Company, the Ford Shelby GT-H Convertible draws the crowd at the 5th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in Palm Beach at the South Florida Expo Center. Along with the Ford Shelby GT-H, the exclusive Foose Coupe was also one of the stars at the auction event.

The 2007 Ford Shelby GT-H Convertible, one of the first units of Ford Mustang GT-H convertibles modified by Shelby Automobiles was sold for $250,000. The amount will go to charitable institutions. According to Ford, the Ford Shelby GT-H Convertible is the first vehicle model that has been unveiled outside a major automotive show, and sold at the same day.

Meanwhile, a unique Foose Coupe equipped with Mopar Hemi V8 engine was sold for a whopping $330,000. The winning bidder will have a private session with Chip Foose to personalize the car like choosing exterior and interior colors and adding optional components.

Other vehicle models auctioned in the event include several vintage Corvettes, a 1957 Bel Air convertible, a rare 1969 Shelby GT500, 1988 Rolls-Royce Corniche II convertible, an exclusive 2003 Panoz Esperante, 1966 Amphicar 770, 1959 Morgan Plus 4 roadster, and a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle 2-door sedan equipped with VW strut insert.

“We also had a wonderful moment just before a specially designed Cadillac CTS Sport Sedan that once belonged to Sir Paul McCartney was sold with proceeds benefiting the Darrell Gwynn Foundation.” said Steve Davis, President of Barrett-Jackson

“Darrell personally delivered a pink wheelchair to three-year-old Lana Rubin on the stage. That gift was made possible through the kindness of enthusiasts and it was moving to see the generosity of the people who are part of this hobby. And when the Cadillac sold, Barrett-Jackson matched the $60,000 winning bid, totaling $120,000 to the charity.” he added.

Restoring a car sounds like a big work. Well, it is. In fact, this job is taken on by car hobbyists alone. If you want to start on this job, you can very well do so, regardless if you consider yourself a hobbyist or not. You can do one part of the job slowly until you have successfully completed the whole project. It is going to take quite sometime. But if you start now, you will finish the job eventually.

You don’t need to buy an old car from the garage to start on this new hobby. You can start with any worn-out car sitting in your own barn, if you have one. There’s no need to look for a vintage Mercedes or a Cadillac. Your good old Volkswagen would do. And if you get good at this, you might even earn good money out of your hobby. Restored classic cars can be auctioned off for quite a big amount.

But before looking at the distant future involving the hordes of cash you can get from your new hobby, you should first look at the problem at hand. Assess the damage of the car that you would like to restore. Is the engine still running? Are the interiors all worn out? How about the car’s surface? How much paintjob is needed?

When taking on a car restoration job, start from the inside out. A shiny finish is worthless if the engine of the car can’t be fixed any longer. Restoring the car means you’re putting it in working form again, like you’ll use it on a daily basis. And so you have to be sure that the car’s engine has parts still available. If not, you might consider changing the entire engine with a compatible one. This is where your car engineering skills would help greatly.

Once the engine is sweet sounding again, you can start working on the car’s interiors. Cars should be as comfortable as can be. The air conditioning should work seamlessly. And the leather seats should be nothing less than perfect. If you can add a good audio and security system to the car, that’s going to be way better. Find good choices of interior trimming from car leather seat manufacturers. As for your car’s wiring system, you can get it fixed with the help of a professional car mechanic.

The paint job comes last. You should put up a good investment on this part because classic cars need to be sleek and shiny for them to look good on the road. Keep in mind that the exterior is the first one noticed. You don’t want your restored classic car look anything less. You might want to send the car for an oven-baked painting service so that its lost luster can be restored. Choose a color that’s flashy and trendy. You can also request for a car detailing work from the car body repair center that you sent it to. Or if you really want to do everything out of your own hands, you can simply buy loads of car paint. Use an air compressor and spray it evenly on the car. Use several coatings for a more glossy effect.

What is Auto Auction?

Internet Marketing No Comments »

GURPREET KAUR asked:

People have been really benefited by this new concept of buying cars from Auto Auction, which is really convenient and affordable for the consumers.

The entire deal of buying a car is all so convenient for the consumer that the consumers seeks to buy it from these auctions, which has eventually become a very popular and very plausible way of buying cars.

People can now give shape to their dream, of owning the land cruiser that they presumed was almost impossible. The consumer can buy the cars at very economical prices if they buy cars from these auctions .

Consumers have the privilege of owning the costliest of cars and pay the cheapest of prices. This has been the way in which the rarest of dreams of owning a car has come true. Auto auction means auctioning cars to the bidder with the highest bid.

The consumers to avoid paying those huge amounts offered by the dealers can buy from some direct sources which sell at very reasonable prices unlike the dealers. The dealers offer prices which include the huge markups that are fixed by the dealers, which make the price of the cars so very expensive to afford.

Auto auctions are not only organized by dealers but can also be held by people who are interested in doing this .

The dealers actually exploit the consumers by demanding amounts that are much higher than the actual price of the car and make them all the more unaffordable by the consumer.

The consumer backing off from buying the car need only make a little research about the auctions held, and the kind of cars being sold in those auctions, and then can go about actually owning a car. The consumers can, by doing so, save a great deal and also enjoy their dream.

The cars sold at these auctions are actually a collection of the cars that are being taken-over by the bank on failure of the account-holder in paying the bank loans and the cars that are being seized by the federal and the local government from people on account of any kind of default.

These cars are usually a very good collection of vintage cars and also include cars which are the brand new models having the warranty period still on. These cars are auctioned in order to realize the losses incurred by the banks and the government on account of several failures.

These auctions are very much affordable because of the reason the selling price is determined by the buyer who is bidding. The selling price in these auctions is basically decided by the consumer.

The price of the car is exclusive of any kind of extra amounts that are attached with the price of the car when bought from the dealer. The bidding in such auctions starts from a very low price.
